VEGA radar level transmitters are being used by an increasing number of Hydrographical survey companies for sea level, tide gauging and river level measurement using low cost non contact radar level sensor technology. New generation radar units with fast response and lower power consumption will also enable wave and height level measurement. In other area’s river, harbour, lock gate level control and estuary levels are being monitored with simple through air radar lightweight enough to be mounted on and arm over the side of a jetty, platform or caisson, replacing sounding and stilling tubes which are prone to silting and collision damage.
