Useful Level Measurement Abbreviations

Some Useful Level Measurement Abbreviations & What They Mean

 

I will come back and  update this post, as and when I find more abbreviations relating to level measurement, pressure, density and switching.  Maybe I’ve missed some that you can think of  (as a test), in which case you can let me know by leaving a comment so I can update the post!

 

Capacitive

A – Admittance

C – Capacitance

I RF – Impedance

K RF – Relative dielectric constant

R RF – Resistance

RF RF – Radio Frequency

 

Hydrostatic

H – Head or hydrostatic Head

HTG – Hydrostatic Tank Gauging

LT – Level Transmitter

P – Pressure

DP – Differential Pressure

PT – Pressure Transmitter

TT – Temperature transmitter

 

Radar or Microwave

AM – Amplitude Modulated

ETS – Equivalent Time sampling

FFT – Fast Fourier Transform

FM – Frequency Modulated

FMCW – Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave

GWR – Guided Wave Radar

TAR – Through Air Radar

TDR – Time-domain reflectometer

 

Ultrasonic

UT – Ultrasonic Transducer

LED – Light Emitting Diode

BCD – Binary Coded Decimal
