On many typical pressure measurement applications, DP is a traditional solution, offering great accuracy and it is widely available. But, on hydrostatic level applications for example, where a flush diaphragm is a common need, the diaphragms tend to be large to accommodate the low pressure ranges and they involve using an oil filled chemical seal. Its a very reliable, and familiar technology, but there are additional costs for fitting of chemical seals, capillaries’ and/or back-pressure ‘bubbler’ systems if you want a top mounted system.
