So What Kind of Overfill Prevention Devices Do You Recommend for Bulk Solids Measurement?
Â
We recommend a both a continuous measurement and high level fail safe switch, then the two systems have a “cross checkâ€.
 Â
Silo, hopper or Bin level continuous measurement / indication
Â
For continuous level monitoring, a new and virtually universal technology such as non-contact radar for bulk solids silo level measurement, as it’s highly reliable, as we will reveal tomorrow. (There are also some alternative technologies such as guided microwave, capacitance and ultrasonic can also be used depending on application.)
Â
By selecting a level measurement technology which can monitor the level during filling, an approaching high level can be anticipated or alarmed before it gets to the high level switch, then it can also provide the operator and driver indication of available, safe loading capacity to prevent overfilling in the first place, as well as inventory/stock levels for day to day production planning and ordering.
